Pre-clearance at Shannon Airport to resume Sept. 20, 2020
United States Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) Director confirmed that pre-clearance services at Shannon Airport for general aviation aircraft will resume Sunday, September 20, 2020. Pre-clearance had been suspended at the Shannon since early in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here’s everything you need to know about pre-clearance resuming at Shannon.
Pre-clearance operating hours at Shannon will be the same as they previously were 0700-2100 local. Bookings are by appointment only with preferably 24 hours’ notice. Appointments can be made by contacting Universal Aviation Shannon and completing a pre-booking information sheet.
Logistical changes coming in to effect
- All crew and passengers must be cleared in the CBP office in the terminal due to COVID precautionary measures put in place by USCBP. USCBP Shannon will not clear onboard until the COVIDcrisis has ceased.
- All PPE/Protective Screening/Sanitizing Measures/Social distancing will be in effect in the CBP office and by the CBP officers.
Book as far in advance as possible
To ensure the pre-clearance process is as smooth as possible, we recommend all operators wishing to pre-clear at Shannon to provide details to their handler with as much notice as possible so that CBP can begin processing information prior to arrival.
