Our FAA-approved FAR Part 65 aircraft dispatcher certification course is designed to help flight operations enhance their knowledge base, safety, and efficiency—as well as help individuals achieve a personal career goals of becoming an FAA-certified dispatcher.

You’ll complete most of your coursework online, and finish up at our Headquarters in Houston, where you’ll test with the FAA.

  • Schedulers, dispatchers, and charter coordinators – Obtain an FAA aircraft dispatcher certification to start a career or enhance your career opportunities with a private Part 91, charter Part 135, or scheduled airline Part 121/125 operation.
  • Pilots – Prepare for a career transition into a flight-operations-management position or increase your backup career opportunities.
  • Other aviation professionals – Improve your ability to communicate with and understand the needs of the flight operations you serve by learning how operations function through the eyes of the dispatch profession.

Although FAA dispatcher certification is not required for most business aviation operations, many choose certification because it:

  • Accelerates and expands scheduler professional development
  • Helps schedulers better identify and avoid potential hazards
  • Incorporates into an operation’s SMS
  • Improves communication and efficiency with flight crews

This course prepares students to understand all subject matter pertinent to becoming an aircraft dispatcher and guides you through the whole process of getting your license, including registration for the FAA written exam and the FAA practical (verbal) exam with the FAA examiner.

Online, followed by two weeks of classroom time

You will complete over half of the coursework online over a four-month (17 week) period. Once you complete the online requirements, you will spend two weeks at our training facility in Houston to complete the practical portion of your training and take both the written and practical FAA exams. (We recommend that all students complete the two-week on-site course as soon as possible – no later than 2-3 months after completing the online modules.)

  • Program fee: $3,995
  • FAA ADX Airman Knowledge Test: $150 – $165
  • FAA practical exam: $500

There are no experience-based prerequisites for taking this course. Students must be able to read, write, speak and understand English, have a high school diploma or GED, and have a government-issued identification showing they are at least 21 years old (students must be at least 23 years old to take the practical portion of the FAA certification exam).

Maximum student to instructor ratio for classes held in Houston, Texas is 10:1.
