Japan experts available for 1-on-1 consultation and live presentations in exhibit #C10630

The opening ceremony of the 2020 Japan Summer Games is less than 10 months away, and the time to begin planning is now, according to the experts at Universal Aviation Japan. Hiroshi Higashiyama, Managing Director, Universal Aviation Japan, will be available to provide 1×1 consultations to operators planning on being in Japan during the 2020 Games period. There will also be live group presentations on Japan 2020 at Universal® Exhibit #C10630 at NBAA-BACE 2019 in Las Vegas.

“Based on the volume of inquiries we’ve already seen come into Universal Aviation Japan, early indicators show this is going to be a high-traffic, high-demand event,” said Higashiyama. “It’s critical that operators planning to attend, understand the guidelines for non-scheduled aircraft operating to Japan for the Games. We’re available to formulate a customized Games strategy that will reduce the usual risks and challenges that come with operating such a high-traffic period.”

The 2020 Summer Games will be held in Tokyo from July 24 – Aug. 9, 2020. The Paralympics will be held from Aug. 25 – Sept. 6, 2020. In advance of the Games, Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) has published guidelines for slot coordination at the six airports that will handle general aviation traffic to the Games.

“It’s imperative that once an operator knows their schedule, they should start making arrangements for slots, parking, and ground services like catering and ground transportation to secure their best options,” said Higashiyama. “Keep in mind that the biggest surge in traffic is going to be just before the Opening Ceremony and right after the closing ceremony. If you can, consider delaying your departure a day after the closing ceremony to avoid delays. Be patient and remain flexible. Chances are your first option may not be available. But our team is going to do our best to find a solution for you.”

To assist operators in identifying the requirements for this event, Universal has developed a comprehensive 2020 Tokyo Summer Games Trip Planning Resource Center (universalweather.com/japan2020) which it will keep updated with the latest info on operating to Japan during this busy period.
