The Singapore Airshow 2026 will take place February 3–8, 2026, at Changi Exhibition Centre. As Asia’s largest aerospace and defense event, it draws global leaders from commercial, government, and military aviation sectors. For business aviation operators, careful pre-planning is essential, as significant airspace restrictions and airport congestion are expected throughout the event period.
Event Overview

Held biennially, the Singapore Airshow is among the world’s premier aerospace exhibitions, featuring over 50,000 trade attendees, top-tier OEM participation, and more than 150 commercial and cargo airlines.

Airspace Restrictions and Closures
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) AIP Supplement 161/2025, airspace surrounding Changi Airport (WSSS) will be closed to all non-participating aircraft during flying displays and practice sessions.
From 29th January to 8th February 2026, there will be airspace closures during the flying display periods, [refer to iii. For practice/ validation and flying display flights for the flying display segment of the Singapore Airshow 2026].
During these times, any aircraft (other than aircraft participating for practice, validation and actual show days flying display) will not be allowed to enter Changi Control Zone or land / depart from SCA RWY 02L/20R or 02C/20C and CAB(E) RWY 02R/20L, unless otherwise approved by FCC and CAAS.

Flights arriving or departing Singapore should avoid operating near these windows to prevent extended delays. CAAS also advises operators to carry sufficient holding fuel (at least 20 minutes) and to expect potential ground stops or diversions.
Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) measures will be implemented before and after each closure period. When a ground delay program is active, flights must comply with their assigned CTOT within a -5/+10 minute window.
Primary Airport

While the airshow takes place near Changi (WSSS), the primary business aviation airport is Seletar (WSSL).
WSSS is a 24-hour airport, while WSSL operates from 2300 UTC to 1400 UTC daily. Both airports are ports of entry and offer full services; however, WSSL caters specifically to general aviation. It operates as a Level 2 schedule-facilitated airport, and although parking can be limited, hangar and compact parking options are typically available. The airport features a modern terminal and a shared Business Aviation Centre utilized by all handlers.
Operators should anticipate short delays clearing customs and immigration, as the terminal can accommodate only one movement at a time. Noise abatement procedures are in effect at WSSL between 1400 and 2300 UTC.
Due to heavy commercial traffic, securing slots and parking at WSSS can be extremely difficult, with handling costs 2–3 times higher than at WSSL. For this reason, Seletar remains the preferred choice for business aviation during the airshow.
Alternate Airports
If parking is unavailable at WSSL or WSSS, nearby Johor Bahru (WMKJ) in Malaysia offers a practical alternative. Located just 30 air miles from Singapore, WMKJ provides ample parking, an 11,000-foot runway, and full GA support. The airport closes nightly between 1600 and 2200 UTC, and the drive from Changi or Seletar takes roughly one hour.
Accommodation and Local Transport
Singapore offers a wide range of 4- and 5-star hotels, but prices rise sharply during the airshow. Many crews prefer staying in the central business district, about a 20-minute drive from either airport. Expect rates around USD 300–450 per night during the event, with early booking strongly recommended.
Ground transport can be arranged via your service provider or ground handler. Local taxis, Grab, and Singapore’s MRT train network are reliable options for crew travel around the city.
In-flight Catering
In-flight catering is available at both WSSL and WSSS. For customized orders, 48 hours’ notice is recommended. Catering can also be coordinated through local restaurants or hotels, though note that WSSL’s FBO has limited refrigerated storage capacity.
Preferred Ground Handler

Universal Aviation Singapore, based at Seletar (WSSL), remains the preferred ground handler for business aviation operators. The facility offers a modern operations center, IS-BAH Stage 3 accreditation, and a new towbarless Lektro tug capable of handling aircraft up to B737/A320 size. Universal Aviation provides full trip coordination, slot and parking management, and on-site support during the event period.
Key Planning Recommendations
- Avoid scheduling operations during daily closure times.
- File early for parking and slots at WSSL.
- Carry adequate fuel for possible holding.
- Expect longer CIQ processing times at Seletar.
- Book hotels and transport well in advance.
Conclusion
The Singapore Airshow 2026 will be one of the busiest operational periods in the region. With strict airspace closures around Changi and limited parking at both Singapore airports, early coordination is essential.
Universal Aviation Singapore can assist with all trip logistics, including parking, CIQ, slot coordination, and alternate airport arrangements, to ensure a smooth experience during this high-traffic event.
