Houston (July 26, 2022) – Universal Aviation, the worldwide ground support division of Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc., announced it has added its 10th ground handling location in Spain in Menorca (LEMH).

Universal Aviation Spain – Menorca is in partnership with Andalucia Aviation. The location will remain branded Andalucia Aviation locally but will now fall under the Universal Aviation network.

This addition expands a previous partnership between Universal Aviation and Andalucia Aviation. In January 2022, the two companies partnered at six ground handling locations, including; Almeria (LEAM), Ciudad Real (LERL), Granada (LEGR), Jerez (LEJR), Malaga (LEMG), and Sevilla (LEZL). Those locations joined existing Universal Aviation Spain locations in Madrid (LEMD), Barcelona (LEBL), and Girona (LEGE), giving the network a total of 10 locations in Spain and 23 total in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

“The Balearic Islands are one of the most popular and beautiful leisure destinations in the world,” said Gonzalo Barona, Jr., General Manager, Universal Aviation Spain. “The island destinations are seeing record-setting volumes. Based on the overwhelming success of our partnership with Andalucia Aviation, established earlier this year, we saw an opportunity to follow that model to work together to raise service levels, enhance facilities, reduce handoffs, and drive down risk at Menorca.”

The team at Universal Aviation Spain is fluent in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Catalan, and Menorquin. Facilities include a dedicated GA ramp, onsite CIQ, crew and passenger lounges, and a prayer room.

“Despite the high traffic volumes and immense popularity of Menorca, on average, we can facilitate turnarounds in 35-40 minutes,” said Barona.

Universal Aviation Spain has been providing ground handling services in Spain for nearly 40 years. For more information on all of Universal Aviation Spain’s locations, visit Universal Aviation  Spain online.
