As a result, business jet operators have plenty of choices for service providers at the city&#8217;s airports.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.universalweather.com\/airports-guide\/LFPB-LBG-LE-BOURGET-AIRPORT-PARIS-ILE-DE-FRANCE-FRANCE\"><strong><span style=\"color: blue;\">Paris Le Bourget (LFPB)<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is one of the most business aviation-friendly airports in Europe in terms of operating flexibility, available services, and maintenance support.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what you need to know:<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Airport Options<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Paris Le Bourget Airport<\/strong> is the primary gateway for business aviation flights to Paris and the only option for charter flights with fewer than 25 seats.<\/p>\n<p>Paris has three airports, but only Le Bourget is fully dedicated to general aviation. The other two, Charles de Gaulle (LFPG) and Orly (LFPO), primarily handle scheduled commercial traffic with very limited GA access.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Charles de Gaulle (LFPG):<\/strong> General Aviation flights are allowed only for passengers with airline connections, and aircraft may remain on the ground for a limited period. LFPG is required for charter flights with more than 25 seats. A permit for Le Bourget may be obtained for larger charter aircraft operating between 0600 and 2200 local time if there is a valid operational reason.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Orly (LFPO):<\/strong> Reserved almost entirely for commercial airline movements. GA access is limited to diplomatic flights or passengers connecting to scheduled airline services. Aircraft may remain on the ground only for a few hours.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Le Bourget (LFPB):<\/strong> Open to private non-revenue and charter flights with aircraft under 25 seats. It is the preferred airport for business aviation, offering full support services, multiple FBOs, and ample parking. Le Bourget is widely regarded as the most efficient and user-friendly airport for executive operations in the Paris area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Distance to Central Paris<\/h2>\n<p>Le Bourget and LFPG are located northeast of Paris, while LFPO is to the southeast. Driving time to central Paris from either airport can range from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic conditions.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Le Bourget<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Le Bourget Airport (LFPB) operates 24\/7 for arrivals but enforces strict departure restrictions. Jet engine departures from the apron are prohibited between 2215-0600 local time, with exceptions granted only for pre-approved medical evacuation flights. Additional restrictions apply from 2330-0615 local time when Stage 2 aircraft operations are banned. During peak periods, overflow aircraft are limited to quickturns only.<\/p>\n<p>Hangar space accommodates aircraft up to BBJ dimensions (height \u226439ft\/12m, wingspan \u2264131ft\/40m), with reduced availability during winter months. Facilities include a lounge, crew lounge, and heated 3,000 sqm hangar that can accommodate aircraft up to BBJ size. The ramp is located in front of FBO.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>There are no airport slots at Le Bourget (except during special events). FBOs and parking location need to be included in section 18 of your flight plan. Gendec is required for all flights, including place of birth. CIQ is done at the FBO and sometimes at the bottom of the aircraft allowing for a quick arrival.<\/p>\n<p>All 3rd-party services, including in-flight catering, transportation, and aircraft services, can be set up on credit by your ground handler. Universal Aviation Paris has equipment capable of supporting wide-body aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Le Bourget has an APU limitation that is strictly enforced. The use of APU is restricted, except for duly justified safety reasons. The use of fixed alternative means (400 Hz or 50 Hz power supply and PCA) or, when unavailable, alternative mobile means (GPU and ACU) provided to the operator is mandatory, except in case of system failure or technical incompatibility.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>For departing flights: <\/strong>At parking stands without alternative ground power or air conditioning, APU use is limited to 45 minutes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>For arriving flights: <\/strong>The use of APU is limited to 20 minutes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>French CAA performs random ramp checks.<\/p>\n<h3>Aviation Fuel<\/h3>\n<p>There are a few different fuel suppliers on the field at Le Bourget, and there are no restrictions on which fuel supplier you may use. It&#8217;s best, however, to specify in advance which fuel supplier you&#8217;d like to deal with. Major aviation fuel cards are typically accepted. Still, it&#8217;s always a good policy to carry a fuel release.<\/p>\n<p>No Avgas is available at Le Bourget.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Charles de Gaulle<\/h2>\n<p>LFPG allows departures 0500-2359 local and arrivals 0530-2359 local. All departures 0001-0459 local and arrivals 0030-0529 local are specified to scheduled commercial operators (GA nighttime operations are not possible after midnight).<\/p>\n<p>LFPG requires airport slots (deviation -5 minutes \/ +10 minutes) and a PPR (at least 24 hours notice is required). The airport slot confirmation number must be included in field 18 of the flight plan. You must notify the ground handler or the airline if you&#8217;re dropping off or picking up passengers with confirmed seats on commercial flights.<\/p>\n<p>LFPG allows GA parking for only a few hours. Overnight stays may also be possible with prior arrangement. LFPO also restricts GA ops to a few hours on the ground, with no arrivals before 0930 and no departures 1900-2100 local. No hangar space or maintenance options are available for GA at LFPG or LFPO. If you have maintenance issues at either LFPG or LFPO, it may take 72 hours to obtain ramp access for a mechanic. If the aircraft can operate, it&#8217;s best to reposition to Le Bourget.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Orly<\/h2>\n<p>LFPO is open 0600-2330 local, but only GA flights with commercial airline connections are permitted to land at LFPO, and Prior Permission Required (PPR) is needed. All aircraft will require PPR at both airports.<\/p>\n<p>LFPO requires airport slots (deviation -\/+ 15 minutes) and a PPR (24 hours notice is required to obtain this). These may not apply during high season or special events<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Paris Ground Transport<\/h2>\n<p>Pre-paid transportation with a driver is recommended, but rental cars are available at all three airports if requested. You&#8217;ll have to arrange van transport to the terminal, and clearing customs could take 30-60 minutes. A VIP terminal is available for diplomatic flights at LFPO &amp; LFPG.<\/p>\n<p>Clearance is a more manageable five to 10-minute procedure \u2013 within the Fixed Based Operator (FBO) 24 hours a day \u2013 at Le Bourget. There are no charges or fees associated with customs clearances at any Paris airport. If you have passengers connecting to a commercial flight \u2013 particularly at LFPG \u2013 it&#8217;s advisable to land at Le Bourget and arrange ground transport (10-15 minutes) to LFPG. This results in cost savings due to Le Bourget&#8217;s lower landing and handling fees.
