{"id":32855,"date":"2020-02-04T10:16:48","date_gmt":"2020-02-04T16:16:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.universalweather.com\/blog\/?p=32855"},"modified":"2020-04-27T09:07:15","modified_gmt":"2020-04-27T14:07:15","slug":"chairmans-note-new-costa-rica-gat-thats-it-yes-operating-to-san-joses-new-gat-is-that-easy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.universalweather.com\/blog\/chairmans-note-new-costa-rica-gat-thats-it-yes-operating-to-san-joses-new-gat-is-that-easy\/","title":{"rendered":"Chairman\u2019s Note: NEW Costa Rica GAT &#8211;  \u201cThat\u2019s it?\u201d Yes, operating to San Jose\u2019s new GAT is that easy!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear Friends and\nColleagues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Late last year,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gat-sjo.com\/\">GAT SJO<\/a>, Costa Rica\u2019s first-ever general\naviation terminal (GAT), which&nbsp;is operated&nbsp;by Universal Aviation\nCosta Rica officially opened.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may remember me\nhighlighting some of the benefits of the facility previously, but how would it\nwork in practice?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019d&nbsp;like to\nshare a brief story.&nbsp;A private operator, who&nbsp;has been to Costa Rica\nmany times, landed&nbsp;in San Jose, went through Customs and Immigration\ninside the facility, received his stamp, walked out the door and was picked up\nby his ground transport. Before getting in, he turned around with a puzzled\nlook and asked, \u201cThat\u2019s it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re&nbsp;thrilled\nto reply, \u201cYes!\u201d&nbsp;It\u2019s&nbsp;that fast and easy. So efficient, in fact, that\nsome of the users wanted to make sure everything&nbsp;was confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s&nbsp;just one example of the overwhelming positive flow of feedback we\u2019ve been receiving. We consistently have heard that our clients love how quick and smooth the process is; and&nbsp;it\u2019s really not a surprise because the GAT eliminates the issues that created stress and risk to private operators\u2019 missions to the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Private operators\nwill no longer have to clear formalities inside the airline terminal in\npotentially long lines, with processing times improving for both in and\noutbound flights 50 percent.&nbsp;Perhaps most importantly, there is no more\ncomingling of private passenger baggage with commercial traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have you been to\nCosta Rica since the GAT opened?
