Initially, all GA operations were required to use the GAT, but usage is now optional.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"592\" data-end=\"723\">While the GAT offers privacy and convenience, operators should consider several operational factors before selecting this option.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2 data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"761\">GAT Operations and Scheduling<\/h2>\r\n<p data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"1051\">The GAT operates under a system that allows only one operation at a time. As a result, crews and passengers may occasionally have to wait onboard until it is their turn for service. To manage flow, the GAT schedules flights in 30-minute intervals, functioning similarly to a slot system.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2 data-start=\"1053\" data-end=\"1103\">Is the GAT Mandatory for Business Aviation?<\/h2>\r\n<p data-start=\"1104\" data-end=\"1305\">No. The GAT is optional for all GA flights. Private flights can clear CIQ in Terminal 3 at no additional charge, though clearance there is processed alongside airline passengers and without priority.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1307\" data-end=\"1478\">The distance between the ramp and the GAT terminal is about 15 minutes, plus an additional 10 to 40 minutes for customs clearance and walking, depending on queue length.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2 data-start=\"1480\" data-end=\"1500\">GAT Amenities<\/h2>\r\n<p data-start=\"1501\" data-end=\"1735\">The GAT provides exclusive CIQ, security, and VIP lounge services, as well as parking and direct vehicle access between the aircraft and terminal. These amenities enhance comfort and privacy for passengers and crew when prearranged.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2 data-start=\"1737\" data-end=\"1774\">GAT Booking Lead Time and Fees<\/h2>\r\n<p data-start=\"1775\" data-end=\"1900\">Booking requests should be submitted at least 24 hours in advance; requests within that window are subject to availability.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1902\" data-end=\"2037\">The total cost to use the GAT is USD 2.450 upon arrival and an equal amount for departure. Pre-payment is mandatory for all services.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"2039\" data-end=\"2183\">Schedule changes exceeding 1 hour 30 minutes from the original time, when made less than 12 hours before operation, may result in a surcharge.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"2185\" data-end=\"2326\">Cancellations made more than 12 hours before the scheduled time incur no additional charges. Those made within 12 hours are non-refundable.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"2328\" data-end=\"2452\">Refunds are limited to 50 percent for cancellations made more than 12 hours in advance. No refund applies within 12 hours.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2 data-start=\"2454\" data-end=\"2484\">Handlers Still Required<\/h2>\r\n<p data-start=\"2485\" data-end=\"2806\">All GA operations at SBGR require a handling agent. Crew and passengers are only permitted within the aircraft ground perimeter under escort. Universal Aviation Brazil coordinates pre-arrival arrangements, transportation between the aircraft and GAT, and ensures operators understand all applicable fees and procedures.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2 data-start=\"2808\" data-end=\"2826\">CIQ Process<\/h2>\r\n<p data-start=\"2827\" data-end=\"3158\">Customs authorities are not permanently based at the GAT and must be requested at least 12 hours before arrival or departure. All crew and passengers must disembark together, though one crew member may briefly remain onboard to maintain systems. Authorities allow up to 15 minutes for full disembarkation before clearance begins.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"3160\" data-end=\"3498\">After clearance, crew may return to the aircraft as needed. All baggage remains stored at GATGRU facilities until passengers or crew are ready to exit the airport. Customs officers serve both commercial and GA flights, so timing varies by peak activity. If multiple aircraft arrive close together, processing occurs in order of arrival.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2 data-start=\"3500\" data-end=\"3530\">Additional Requirements<\/h2>\r\n<p data-start=\"3531\" data-end=\"3714\">Trip preparation for GAT operations is more detailed. The handler must submit crew and passenger manifests to customs at least 24 hours in advance, including any subsequent updates.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h2 data-start=\"3716\" data-end=\"3735\">Pets Onboard<\/h2>\r\n<p data-start=\"3736\" data-end=\"3959\">Only one quarantine agent is on duty per shift at SBGR. Pet documentation must be submitted in advance for review and approval.
