Universal not attending SDC/IOC 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns

As COVID-19 continues to spread rapidly around the world, the health and safety of our employees, customers, and partners is our top priority.

With that in mind, and after careful consideration and an abundance of caution, Universal has made the difficult decision to cancel our participation in this year’s SDC and IOC 2020 conferences.

The only exception is that we have kept our commitment to teach our 2-day PDP Course at SDC so that those students wouldn’t be impacted.

We are extremely disappointed to not be attending. SDC and IOC are events we love, and NBAA and the SDC/IOC Committees do an outstanding job of hosting these. However, we feel being prudent at this time must take precedence.

We also want to acknowledge the extremely difficult position NBAA and the SDC/IOC Committees have been put in due to an unpredictable and quickly evolving situation.

There is no doubt, the next few months are going to be challenging for our industry and the world.

We’re doing our very best to feed in information, from our Universal teams from all over the world, to keep up with the restrictions impacting business aviation on our blog , which is updated as soon as we can verify new information.

Moving forward, as business aviation professionals, and as anindustry, we must challenge ourselves to focus on what is most important – remaining able to service those who need us for their critical missions that “move organizations that move the world.”

On behalf of all of our Universal Team around the world, we want to share our heartfelt thoughts, prayers, and best wishes that you, your families, and friends remain safe.

Warmest regards,

Greg Evans, Chairman
