Business Aviation Planning – 2014 World Cup Brazil: Part 2 – Alternate Airports

This is a post by authors Andre Camargo and Marcia Taue. Andre and Marcia are based at Universal Aviation Brazil, which has aircraft ground handling facilities in Sao Paulo, Brasilia, Manaus, Recife, and Rio de Janeiro. 2. Hotel and local transport options

Larger centers in Brazil have good selections of 4- and 5-star crew accommodation options, including large international hotel chains, but more remote locations have limited options. Many accommodations are expected to sell out during the games period, prices will be higher, and there may be extended cancellation policies. It’s best to book now, as there will be very limited options later on.

Prepaid (car with driver) transportation is recommended for all locations in Brazil during the World Cup 2014. It’s best to arrange this, well in advance, via your ground handler. Avoid public transportation and taxis due to security concerns.

Conclusion

Be mindful that additional time to arrange services is involved when operating to domestic airports in Brazil. It’s important to begin working with a 3rd-party provider early to ensure correct and required aircraft services are arranged for your planned operation.
