Here’s another chance to test your “AVsavvy”.

Suppose you are operating from KEWR to MMUN. In addition to a regular worldwide insurance policy and standard aircraft documents that you must have onboard the aircraft, what additional items must you also have?

Mexico Country Information:

– GA AIRCRAFT ARE BANNED FROM USING MEXICO CITY/MMMX AIRPORT.
– ANY AIRCRAFT OWNED BY MILITARY OF ANY GOVT (WHETHER ON MILITARY FLT OR NOT)
MUST GET SPECIAL PERMISSION FM MEXICAN AIR FORCE TO OPERATE IN OR OVER
MEXICO.
– NO CABOTAGE ALLOWED – PRIVATE AND CHARTER AIRCRAFT MUST HAVE THE SAME PASSENGERS
ONBOARD ALL LEGS IN MEXICO THAT ORIGINALLY ARRIVE IN MEXICO. (THE AIRCRAFT MAY
DEPART MEXICO WITH FEWER PASSENGERS THAN ARRIVED IN MEXICO AS LONG AS THEY ARE
THE SAME PASSENGERS).
– ANY AIRCRAFT (INCLUDING MEXICAN REGISTERED) ARRIVING MEXICO FROM SOUTH AMERICA,
CENTRAL AMERICA, AND/OR THE CARIBBEAN (TO INCLUDE BAHAMAS AND NOW BERMUDA) MUST
STOP AT THE FOLLOWING DESIGNATED PORTS
OF ENTRY TO CLEAR CUSTOMS – TAPACHULA/MMTP OR COZUMEL/MMCZ.
THE ONLY EXCEPTION ARE VIP DIPLOMATIC FLIGHTS WITH PRIOR PERMISSION.
A/C ORIGINATING FROM THE U.S. MAY ARRIVE AT ANY INTL AIRPORT IN MEXICO.
– INSURANCE CERTIFICATES MUST CORRECTLY REFLECT THE TYPE OF A/C USE.
1. FOR BOTH PVT (PRT 91) MULTIPLE ENTRY AND ONE-SHOT PMT REQUESTS, INSURANCE
CERT MUST STATE THAT A/C USE IS PRIVATE.
2. FOR CHTR (PART 135) ONE-SHOT PMT REQUESTS, INSURANCE CERT MUST STATE THAT
A/C USE IS COMMERCIAL.
– IF A/C USE IS INCORRECT ON INSURANCE, PILOTS MAY FACE EXTENDED DELAYS
AND/OR FINES (UP TO $10,000 USD).
-ALL AIRCRAFT OPERATING TO MEXICO MUST HAVE ONBOARD WORLDWIDE INSURANCE, MEXICAN INSURANCE,
ALL AIRCRAFT DOCUMENTS, AND THE LANDING PERMIT CONFIRMATION
<< OVERFLIGHT PERMIT REQUIREMENTS >>
– PRIVATE – NOT REQUIRED EXCEPT FOR GOV’T OR MILITARY AIRCRAFT.
NOTE: ANY ACFT WITH DELINQUENT NAV FEES WILL BE DENIED OVERFLIGHT.
– CHARTER – NOT REQUIRED EXCEPT FOR GOV’T OR MILITARY AIRCRAFT.
NOTE: ANY ACFT WITH DELINQUENT NAV FEES WILL BE DENIED OVERFLIGHT.
