Here’s another chance to test your “AVsavvy”.

Suppose you are planning a trip from RCTP to VDPP. You are trying to decide if you can overfly Chinese airspace. The following is information you need to decide on if this is a possibility:

CHINA COUNTRY INFORMATION:

– FLT PLAN FOR O/F WITHIN SANYA AOR MUST BE FILED AT LEAST 3 HOURS PRIOR TO ETD.
– O/F PMT N/R FOR FLTS OPERATING THROUGH SANYA FIR/ZJSA VIA FLWG ROUTES:
A1, P901, L642, M771, N892. THESE DON’T O/F CHINA’S LANDMASS.
– OVER WATER THE ZJSA FIR IS MONITORED BY VHHH ATC. BECAUSE CHINA ATC DOES NOT
MONITOR THIS AIRSPACE, CAA CHINA DOES NOT CONSIDER ANY A/C ENTERING THE ZJSA
FIR OVER WATER AS ENTERING CHINESE AIRSPACE, THEY CONSIDER THE ZGZU FIR AS THE ENTRY
FOR ENTERING CHINESE AIRSPACE AND THE WAYPOINT ON THIS FIR SHOULD BE USED AS THE
ENTRY FIX ON THE CHINA PERMIT.
– CHINA O/F PERMIT IS NOT REQUIRED IN THE GUANGZHOU FIR/ZGZU WHEN THE A/C HAS
A DESTINATION OF VMMC IF ROUTING IS VIA THE FOLLOWING ROUTE (… A1 ELATO DCT SAMMI
DCT SMT SMT3A VMMC). THIS IS APPLICABLE ONLY TO A/C THAT HAVE NOT ENTERED
CHINESE AIRSPACE EARLIER IN THEIR ROUTE TO VMMC.
FLIGHTS WITH ORIGIN OR DESTINATION OF TAIWAN ARE NOT PERMITTED TO LAND OR OVERFLY
CHINA. THIS INCLUDES ARRIVING AND DEPARTING FROM CHINA AND OVERFLYING TAIWAN
ENROUTE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY. THE EXCEPTION IS AMBULANCE FLTS.
– ANY REQ SENT ON THEIR FRI: DUTY OFCR OF CAA & AF MIL DEPT DO NOT WANT TO PROCESS
ANY PMTS ON WEEKEND UNLESS IT IS EMERGENCY.
– UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY CHINA CAAC OR LOCAL AUTHORITIES NO MORE THAN THE
ORIGINAL NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO ARRIVE ON A FLIGHT CAN DEPART ON THAT FLIGHT
(FEWER MAY LEAVE THAN ARRIVE, BUT NOT MORE). OUR UNIVERSAL CHINA OFFICE WILL
REQUEST THROUGH CAAC/ LOCAL AUTHORITIES.
– TAIWANESE REGISTERED ACFT OVERFLYING CHINA AIRSPACE VIA ZJSA FIR IS OKAY AS LONG
AS IT DOES NOT O/F LANDMASS.

Based on the above information, which statement below is correct? Answer below and come back next Friday to see if you got the answer right!
