Here’s another chance to test your “AVsavvy”.

Suppose you are planning a trip to Tel Aviv, Israel (LLBG) and from there to Mumbai, India (VABB). You are trying to decide on a tech stop between LLBG and VABB. The following are possible tech stops that your operation is considering:

  1. Dubai, United Arab Emirates (OMDB)
  2. Muscat, Oman (OOMS)
  3. Bahrain, Kingdom of Bahrain (OBBI)
  4. Amman, Jordan (OJAM)
  5. Doha, Qatar (OTBD)

Now here’s the information on operating to each of these tech stops

UAE COUNTRY INFORMATION

  1. LANDING PERMITS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE U.A.E. AND APPLICATION IS MADE TO EACH INDIVIDUAL EMIRATE. THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED WITH APPLICATION
    1. EMIRATE OF ABU DHABI
    2. – AIR WORTHINESS CERTIFICATE

    3. EMIRATE OF DUBAI
    4. NO DOCUMENTS HAVE TO BE PRESENTED WITH APPLIATION
      BUT THE FOLLOWING MUST BE ONBOARD AIRCRAFT AT ARRIVAL TIME:
      – AIR OPERATORS CERTIFICATE (CHARTER ONLY)
      – AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE
      – REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE
      – RADIO STATION LICENSE CERTIFICATE
      – WORLDWIDE INSURANCE

    5. EMIRATE OF FUJAIRAH
    6. – AIR WORTHINESS CERTIFICATE

    7. EMIRATE OF RAS AL KHAIMAH
    8. – AIR OPERATORS CERTIFICATE (CHARTER ONLY)
      – AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE
      – REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE
      – RADIO LICENSE
      – WORLDWIDE INSURANCE

    9. EMIRATE OF SHARJAH
    10. – AIR OPERATORS CERTIFICATE (CHARTER ONLY)
      – AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE
      – REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE
      – ACAS II: VERSION 7.0 CERTIFICATE
      – TCAS AUTHORIZATION
      – WORLDWIDE INSURANCE

  2. ISRAEL NATIONALS AND THOSE SUSPECTED OF BEING ISRAEL NATIONALS BUT TRAVELING ON ALTERNATIVE PASSPORTS WILL BE DENIED ENTRY TO THE UAE.
  3. FLTS DIRECTLY TO/FROM ISRAEL ARE PROHIBITIED.
  4. ALL CIVIL REGISTERED AIRCRAFT DEPARTING FROM AFGHANISTAN WILL ONLY BE PERMITTED TO LAND IN THE UAE IF THEY DEPART FROM EITHER KABUL OR KHANDAHAR.

OMAN COUNTRY INFORMATION

  • PERMIT REQUESTS ARE IN A SPECIAL FORMAT THAT IS ONLY SENT ON ORIGINAL REQUEST. FOR REVISIONS, YOU MUST “CUT AND PASTE” ORIGINAL REQUEST AND MANUALLY TYPE IN CHANGES.
  • FLTS TO/FROM ISRAEL ARE PROHIBITED. OVERFLIGHTS OR LANDINGS IN ISRAELI MADE AIRCRAFT (MUST NOT BE ISRAELI CREW OR REGISTRATION) WILL BE HANDLED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.

BAHRAIN COUNTRY INFORMATION

  • IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR ALL REQUESTS TO HAVE ACCURATE FULL FLIGHT DETAILS INCLUDED IN THE REQUEST BEFORE SUBMITTING IT TO AIR TRANSPORT DIRECTOR AS STATED IN BAHRAIN AIP. MISSING INFORMATION WILL LEAD TO A DELAY IN ISSUING YOUR LANDING APPROVAL.
  • MTOW SUBMITTED WITH PERMIT REQUEST MUST MATCH MTOW GIVEN IN AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE FOR ALL OPERATIONS TO OBBI/BAHRAIN INTL.
  • FLTS TO/FROM ISRAEL ARE PROHIBITED. OVERFLIGHTS OR LANDINGS IN ISRAELI MADE AIRCRAFT (MUST NOT BE ISRAELI CREW OR REGISTRATION) WILL BE HANDLED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.
  • PRIVATE (NON-REVENUE)AND CHARTER (REVENUE) FLTS TO/FROM IRAQ ARE CURRENTLY PROHIBITED BY BAHARAIN CAA.

JORDAN COUNTRY INFORMATION
PER CARC ALL REQUESTS MUST GO THROUGH LOCAL HANDLING AGENT.

  • JORDAN CARC HAS BECOME CIVIL AVIATION REGULATORY COMMISSION (CARC).
  • JORDANIAN CARC WILL APPROVE FLIGHTS FROM TEL AVIV/LLBG TO AMMAN/OJAM.
  • BUSINESS TRAVELERS NEED OFFICIAL LETTER FROM COMPANY STATING PURPOSE OF THE TRIP, ETC.
  • PRIVATE – REQUIRED
    1. PERMIT REQUIRES AT LEAST 4 WORKING DAYS PRIOR NOTICE.
    2. IN ALL LANDING REQUESTS, PLEASE INCLUDE MTOW AND BILLING ADDRESS.
    3. ALL BUSINESS TRAVELERS NEED OFFICIAL LETTER FROM COMPANY STATING PURPOSE OF THE TRIP ETC.
  • CHARTER – REQUIRED
    1. PERMIT REQUIRES AT LEAST 4 WORKING DAYS PRIOR NOTICE.
    2. LANDING PERMIT REQUEST MUST BE SENT THROUGH THE LOCAL HANDLING AGENT.
    3. IN ALL LANDING REQUESTS, PLEASE INCLUDE MTOW AND BILLING ADDRESS.
    4. ALL BUSINESS TRAVELERS NEED OFFICIAL LETTER FROM COMPANY STATING PURPOSE OF THE TRIP ETC.

QATAR COUNTRY INFORMATION

  • ALL LANDINGS OTHER THAN TECHNICAL REFUELING REQUIRE THE LOCAL SPONSOR OR BUSINESS CONTACT TO CONTACT CIVIL AVIATION DIRECTLY AND PROVIDE A COPY OF A LETTER OF INVITATION. CAA HAS RECENTLY BEEN REJECTING COPIES OF LETTERS OF INVITATION SENT FROM UNIVERSAL.
  • BUSINESS CONTACT INFORMATION MUST ALSO BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION.
  • FLTS TO/FROM ISRAEL ARE PROHIBITED. OVERFLIGHTS OR LANDINGS IN ISRAELI MADE AIRCRAFT (MUST NOT BE ISRAELI CREW OR REGISTRATION) WILL BE HANDLED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.
  • MAY REFUSE ENTRY TO CREW AND PAXS WHO HAVE ISRAELI VISA OR ENTRY/EXIT STAMPS IN THEIR PASSPORTS.
  • CHARTER FLTS REQUIRE FLT PLAN ON FILE 48 HRS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE.
