About Aviation Weather Today
Aviation Weather Today is a free online video broadcast produced by Universal's meteorology department to alert business aviation professionals to weather conditions that impact air travel in high-traffic regions spanning North America and Europe. Each segment forecasts 2-day regional High-Level and Low-Level Significant Weather Prognostics (SIGWX).

Lauren Whisenhunt
Meteorologist, Universal
Lauren comes to Aviation Weather Today following work as an ImpactWeather marine meteorologist, providing forecasts to ocean-going vessels, as well as production and exploration operations around the globe. Previously, she was a producer and meteorologist for AWT – Lauren chose to interrupt her AWT celebrity to return to operational meteorology and continue to gain experience in all aspects of meteorology. In fact, Lauren is now one of the most well-rounded forecasters at ImpactWeather and Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc., with experience onshore, offshore, and in the air. Lauren graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree, then continued with her Masters in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University; she is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. This Alabama native now calls Houston home and enjoys watching college football, traveling, and spending time with her friends, family, and dog.
Dave Gorham
Senior Aviation Weather Meteorologist, Universal
Following U.S. Air Force Weather Observer and Forecaster Schools, Dave's early weather career included supporting Air Force One and later Marine One at Camp David, becoming one of the few to directly support both Presidential aircraft. After the Air Force, Dave spent a year on-air with KFDX-TV (NBC) in Wichita Falls, Texas before moving to Houston, where he perfected his aviation weather skills over 13 years as a meteorologist with Universal. In addition to producing and hosting "Aviation Weather Today," Dave oversees the video department and produces daily weather videos while developing additional video product. Dave holds the AMS® Seal of Approval for Radio Weathercasting and is a member of the American Meteorological Society.
