More than 500 Operators Have Received Universal Assistance with their Monitoring Plans

Geneva (May 4, 2010) – Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. Global Regulatory Services experts will be available at Universal® exhibit #7030 to answer operators' specific questions about the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS) at EBACE2010.

"Since May 2009, when the plans for EU-ETS were announced, our Regulatory Services team has held more than 500 1x1 consultations with Universal clients and non-clients regarding EU- ETS compliance," said Adam Hartley, Supervisor, Regulatory Services, Universal. "I will be available at EBACE to answer operators' specific questions about EU-ETS, regardless of whether they are a Universal client. Hartley will also be providing demos of Universal's free EU-ETS Resource Center (www.EU-ETS.aero), which is packed with need-to-know information, tools, how-to videos, sample reporting plans and completed reports, and more—resources useful for operators no matter their level of understanding or experience with EU-ETS.

"We continue to update and enhance the EU-ETS Reporting Resource Center (www.EU-ETS.aero), and the feedback we've received indicates that it is a helpful tool," said Hartley. "Our data backs that up as well, as the site has received nearly 5,000 unique hits since January 1."

Hartley said that although compliance with EU-ETS began January 1, operators are at many different stages of compliance.

"The questions we receive still run the gamut from operators that have received approval for the plan but don't know what to do next, to those who have not completed their monitoring plans because they are still not listed on an operator list, to operators that are just now hearing about the program," said Hartley.
